Co-Founder

Shakala Smoaks is one of three co-founders of the F.O.C.U.S. Group. She, too, joins forces with colleagues who share a passion for repairing and preparing their community to offer family strengthening, financial wellness, mental, spiritual, and physical health initiatives to the underserved. Ms. Smoaks hails from Hatchechubee, Alabama, and currently calls Columbus, Georgia home. Ms. Smoaks brings with her nearly a decade of accounting experience from the nonprofit sector as well as in the government sector. Shakala graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014. Since graduation, she’s committed her career to helping improve the quality of life for those around her and affirm the mantra of her favorite quote; “our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them,” Dalai Lama. In her spare time, Ms. Smoaks enjoys reading, solving mathematical equations, and content creation.
